Lufthansa Group Hangar One

"Deutsche Lufthansa AG is commemorating the 100th anniversary of its foundation in 2026. The Group recently inaugurated the new Lufthansa Group Hangar One conference and visitor centre at its Frankfurt site to coincide with these celebrations. Open to the public since August 2026, the facility combines exhibition, event and meeting spaces where visitors can experience the company’s history and pioneering spirit.
When furnishing the reception zone, café and bistro, library, event and conference areas, lounges and the cinema, the team sought products equal to the impressive venue in quality and design. Vitra was therefore entrusted with the interior layout and planning. Thanks to the extensive Vitra product portfolio, each space was optimally furnished to suit different needs and usage scenarios.

“The furniture and the interior design translate the Lufthansa Group’s values into a spatial experience: precise, timeless, international and carefully considered.”
Benjamin Kümmel, Project Manager, Workplace Solutions, Lufthansa Group

The selection features design classics like the Eames Segmented Tables, Eames Soft Pad Chairs and Fauteuil de Salon armchairs, which date back to the same era as some of the aircraft in Hangar One. These are complemented by a wide range of contemporary products, including MedaMorph, Folding Table, Super Fold Table High, Map Table, Guéridon Bas and Metal Side Table, alongside the ID Chair, HAL Soft, HAL Tube and Visiona Stool, as well as the Soft Work, Reset and Dancing Wall systems. For the HAL Tube and HAL Soft chairs, Vitra’s engineers developed a bespoke, GS-certified panic-proof linking system. The furnishings support the various event and meeting formats, helping to establish Hangar One as a shared space for the entire Lufthansa Group." Vitra Homepage
