J. A. Coderch

TUNDS presents the DISA and Cister Lamps designed by one of the most important catalan architects J. A. Coderch:

„Josep Antoni Coderch i de Sentmenat (Barcelona, 26 November 1913 in - Barcelona, 6 November 1984) was one of the most important post-World War II Spanish architects. In 1932 Coderch started studying architecture at the Barcelona School of Architecture, which he graduated in 1940. He started his office with Manual Valls in 1942. After joining the CIAM, he became a member of Team 10 in 1960.“ Wikipedia

„The DISA lamp, also known as "Coderch lamp", with shape of pumpkin, awarded and admired, was the only model of the lamp that the brilliant architect in life led to the manufacture in the middel 50´s. TUNDS this time re-edits the DISA lamp with the supervision of the development of the heirs of Coderch. The original dimensions, materials and proportions designed by Coderch and aspects that remained pending in previous versions have been this time developed and improved. It is an interior lamp with semi-gloss black anodized aluminum rings. A light internal structure supports the system of lighting with pure-LED technology. The screen of wood or white methacrylate are helded by little bolts. Then the nice and characteristic shape of the DISA lamp is accomplished.

The Cister lamp was also designed by the architect Coderch de Sentmenat in 1970 (approx.) as part of a collection of several lamps. TUNDS now develops and edits the design with the license and supervision of the heirs of Coderch de Sentmenat. Interior lamp. A structure of semi gloss aluminum covered with screens of treated wood or white methacrylate. Assembled using transparent plastic coated magnets.“ TUNDS, http://www.tunds.es
